Health Camp

Overview: 

The Health Camp organized by Better Together India Trust (BTI) in collaboration with Community Health Centre-Bisrakh in the slum area of Alivardipur, Noida aimed to provide essential health services and awareness to the marginalized residents. The initiative was carried out in collaboration with local healthcare professionals and volunteers, ensuring comprehensive coverage of health needs among the target population.


Key Objectives:

  1. Health Screening: Conduct thorough health check-ups to identify prevalent health issues.

  2. Health Education: Raise awareness about hygiene, sanitation, and preventive healthcare measures.

  3. Medical Consultation: Provide consultations and referrals for necessary medical interventions.

  4. Distribution of Essentials: Distribute basic healthcare supplies such as medicines, vitamins, and hygiene kits.


Activities Undertaken:


  • Registration and Screening: Participants were registered upon arrival and underwent systematic health screenings.

  • Consultation and Diagnosis: Medical professionals conducted individual consultations, diagnosing and treating common ailments.

  • Health Education Sessions: Volunteers conducted interactive sessions on topics including nutrition, maternal health, and disease prevention.

  • Distribution of Supplies: Essential healthcare items such as vitamins, hygiene kits, and medicines were distributed based on individual needs.

  • Follow-up Recommendations: Recommendations for follow-up treatments and health maintenance were provided to participants requiring ongoing care.



Impact: 

The health camp successfully engaged 109 residents from the slum area, addressing immediate health concerns and empowering them with knowledge for better health practices. Participants expressed appreciation for the accessible healthcare services and educational sessions, indicating a positive impact on their well-being.


Challenges Faced:


  • Logistical Constraints: Managing large numbers of participants within limited resources posed initial challenges.

  • Language Barriers: Overcoming language barriers to effectively communicate health information required additional effort from translators and local volunteers.

  • Sustainability: Ensuring continuity of care and sustaining health improvements beyond the camp remains a challenge requiring long-term planning and support.


Conclusion: 

The Health Camp in Noida’s slum area was a significant step towards addressing healthcare disparities among vulnerable populations. It underscored the importance of community-driven initiatives in promoting health equity and fostering partnerships between healthcare providers, volunteers, and local authorities. Moving forward, continued efforts are essential to sustain the impact and extend healthcare access to underserved communities.
