Blankets & Shawls Distribution by Better Together India Trust (BTI)

Objective:


The primary objective of the activity was to provide warmth and comfort to vulnerable individuals in Aligarh, specifically targeting 150 beggars, rag pickers, and rickshaw pullers who are among the most marginalized in the community.


Activities Undertaken:


  1. Preparation and Planning:

    1. The activity was meticulously planned by the Better Together India Trust (BTI) team, ensuring logistical arrangements were in place to reach the targeted beneficiaries effectively.

    2. Blankets and shawls were procured well in advance, ensuring they met the quality and comfort standards suitable for the local climate conditions.

  2. Distribution Process:

    a. On 21/01/2024, the distribution team assembled at the designated

    location in Aligarh early in the morning to begin preparations.

    b.    Beneficiaries were identified and organized into manageable groups

    to facilitate orderly distribution.

    c.   Each individual received a blanket or a shawl, tailored to their

    specific needs, ensuring they were adequately protected from the

    winter cold.

  3. Community Engagement:

    1. Beyond the material support, the BTI team engaged with the beneficiaries, fostering a sense of community and empathy.

    2. Volunteers from BTI took the opportunity to listen to the stories and challenges faced by the recipients, offering a compassionate ear and providing information about other support services available through BTI.

  4. Documentation and Feedback:

    1. The distribution process was carefully documented through photographs and videos, capturing the impact of the initiative and the expressions of gratitude from the recipients.
